Acceptance

What is it that our heart really wants? ⠀ Three things—recognition, appreciation and above everything, reciprocation. ⠀ If you always felt out of place, no matter what you did for them, then maybe it was never really your place to be. If you always felt lonely, no matter how many times you were there for them, then maybe they never really needed you. If you always felt unappreciated, no matter how much you appreciated them, then maybe they didn’t deserve it after all. ⠀ If you wonder how people forget emotional relationships so thoughtlessly, if you wonder how they get rid of habits so easily, if you wonder how effortlessly they let go of you while you were still putting in your best efforts to make them stay, if you wonder how it’s so easy for them and the toughest job for you—I feel you and you’re not alone. ⠀ I know it’s hard to accept that they didn’t feel the same for you. I know it’s hard to stop caring when all you did was care, but you need to understand that the world has too ...

The Law of Attraction of the Universe

So, a few years back, I read this book called, The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I was probably sixteen around that time and I just found it on a random bookshelf at the Crossword store. The book jacket looked very attractive to the eye and it looked like one of those books about magic and supernatural things. As a sixteen year old, magic obviously intrigued me and I read the first few pages of the book. I was engrossed in it for a good five minutes until my mom called out for me saying that we had to leave. On my way back, I just couldn’t stop thinking about what I read. My sixteen year old mind was lost in deep thought and every word written in it forced me to think.  I did read about magic, the magic of the universe.  It made me question the entire working mechanism of the universe. My innocent mind was caught up in thought and I knew I had to buy that book. A few days into reading it, I could feel things changing around me. The book spoke about the law of attraction of the unive...

The Power of Karma

We all believe in the power of Karma because we’ve all somehow experienced it ourselves or watched it happen to someone else. We’re all flawed and we’ve all made certain choices that we’re not very proud of. We’re all responsible for our own actions but Karma is responsible for how we’re treated for them. The thing about Karma is that you never realise when it’s about to come for you.  Karma is the universe’s mechanism to punish or reward you for your deeds. Karma waits for none, but comes for everyone.  My idea is to link Karma with whatever that your mind is feeling bothered about. If you’re wearing your heart on your sleeve for that friend of yours who doesn’t bother to even check up on you, leave it to Karma. If you’re struggling to feel a moment of love from the person who doesn’t value you enough, leave it to Karma. If you’re being bullied and bothered by something that someone did to you, leave it to Karma. Trust it’s power and let it do what it wants to. Remember how w...

Feminism & Facts

A simple appeal to the society that has divided men and women in the name of feminism— “The advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes”— this right here is the definition of feminism as defined by our very reliable search engine, Google. A lot of people have different ideas about feminism and I’m not here to support them or advocate against them. I’m only here to express my honest opinion and maybe, try to preach our men and women to love each other again.  I want you all to first assess the true meaning of equality before you start defining politically strong terms like feminism. Equality means, the state of being equal in terms of status, rights and opportunities. And, now that you know what equality means, can you really say that men and women are treated equally with respect to status, rights and opportunities? NO.  And now, let’s look into the definition of feminism as I mentioned above—The advocacy of women’s rights on the GROUND OF THE EQUALIT...

Childhood vs Adulthood

Remember the time when crying was our green signal to everything? We cried when we were hungry, we cried when we wet our nappies, we cried when we wanted to play, we cried when we were sleepy and the best of all, we cried every time a new person tried to cuddle us up! Baby life was so fascinating, one moment our mothers were literally struggling to get even one hour of rest during the day and the next moment we could see her capturing us doing something completely foolish which by the way, she found adorably cute. If only she knew what we were going to grow into! All through these years, we looked at the world so cluelessly while our families kept planning our lives at every step.  The theory here is, for over sixteen years of our lives, we gave an unquestionable hall pass to our parents to nurture us, mould us and make decisions for us and all of a sudden when we’re twenty, we want everything in our control? Major hypocrisy alert here, but HOW on earth can we except our pare...
